WSI, in conjunction with the FPA, also assist with fires. The WSI Board was appointed to manage the Melkrivier FPA sector. We encourage all members to join the FPA. We also send all necessary documents in February to all our members to apply for their fire certificates at DAFF.

General Information

The purpose and purpose of the association is:

  1. a) Supporting and coordinating the cooperation of existing fire-fighting associations in the Nylstroom Modimolle Municipal area, and establishing sectors in areas where fire-fighting associations do not exist.
  2. b) To prevent fires and to apply proper firefighting in the area.
  3. AREA OF ASSOCIATION.

The responsible area of ​​the association is the geographical area of ​​the Municipality of Nylstroom / Modimolle.

  1. RESPONSIBILITY OF THE ASSOCIATION;
  2. a) Development of a veldfire management strategy in the area.
  3. b) To establish co-operation with adjacent fire-fighting associations.
  4. c) Make rules and regulations that relate to the control and management of the association and which will be binding on the members.
  5. d) Regular communication with the members regarding the fire is in terms of Art, 9 and 10 of the Act.
  6. e) Organizing and training members with regard to firefighting, management and prevention of veld fires.
  7. f) To provide information to members on latest equipment and technology available to prevent and combat field burns and to obtain and provide equipment to its members.
  8. g) Keep track of field fire statistics and provide these details to the Minister on a regular basis.
  9. h) To apply the authority and controls conveyed by the Minister to the association.
  10. i) To appoint a firefighting officer.
  11. j) To lay down generally accepted standards for fire fighting and fire prevention.

MEMBERSHIP

  1. a) Membership of the association is available to all existing regional / area firefighting associations / sectors and their affiliated members
  2. b) Every municipality that has a fire-fighting service must become a member of the association.
  3. c) The total area must be divided into sectors with one vote per sector.
